I agree with hrsepwrguy about NOT reducing the riba dose.

Hopefully your Derm. appt. is soon.

This rash can snow ball out of control rapidly. The Dermatologist should put you on medications that will address your rash rapidly and aggressively. They should not fool around wasting time on over the counter medications.

I had a very bad rash all over the place. It took my team a long time to get on top of it. They did not know what they were doing. They should have put me on high powered meds immediately.

What DID NOT work for me was any of the over the counter meds. They are way too weak and did nothing.

What DID work for me was Hydroxyzine 50 mg every 6 hours (oral). Also Fluocinonide ointment for my body rash, Hydrocortizone Valerate for my face, and Clobetesol solution for my scalp. I would suggest a strong cream for the body rash as opposed to the ointment because the ointment is very greasy and gets on everything. I think they have Fluocinonide cream and some people have used Kenalog cream. It just has to be very strong. The ointment works, but it will get on everything and ruin your clothing and bedsheets. I felt like I was sleeping in snot for 4 months and that is not an exaggeration.

If the Dermatologist puts you on lower doses. call him/her ASAP if it is not enough and not working. There is no reason to risk having to stop treatment (or to suffer from intense itching and rash) when all they have to do is give you high enough doses of meds to solve the problem.

I was able to stay on treatment and I did attain SVR but only because I finally got high enough doses of the rash meds so that I could continue treatment.

Best of luck.

oh didn't know that. when I was leaving my doctors office I could hear him mumbling under his breath if that doesn't help we may have to stop and wait for another treatment. I don't like him he doesn't tell me anything. I had to take time off work to finish treatment cause my sides are really bad rash and fatigue, im determined to finish this treatment, even if I have no skin left lol

Being that you are geno 3 and on SOC (peg/riba only), if it were me, I wouldn't want to reduce my riba dosage at all unless absolutely necessary but that is just IMO, most of the stuff your reading about with a riba reduction involves some sort of DAA (inc, boc, sof) and do not include SOC

Have a great day
