My 3rd shot Friday kinda kicked back! But I'm dressed n walking in to work. We can do this! Feeling a bit like a ninja. So grateful for the side effects. They serve to remind me that a war is going on in my body. One that I'm gonna win! Stay strong hep c warriors! Take care of you today.. Hugs, Karen

Well, I survived! This is do-able. Truly. I may be a lil lazy in the evenings, but the school year is gonna be fine. I snuck in some almonds and a Boost shake during a meeting and took 2 Telaprevir. haha. I just wanna be sure I give my body the rest it needs, so I'm gonna conserve my strength as much as possible.
Ann - H2O and those little shredded wheat cereal bits with almonds. :) That SE may be the worst. lol
I felt so tired at lunch and snuck off to read ur posts. They were truly uplifting. Words have SO much power. Thanks for yours, xoxoxo Karen

Because I'm stage 4, I have at least 48 weeks. Let's make that T -45 and counting. haha

Laughter is the best medicine!!!

Cyn621....If I'm clear after 4 weeks, then my treatment will be for a total of 48 weeks.  I previously treated in 1994 and in 2000 and am considered a non-responder.  So I will be here for you!

"These are the things that will ultimately make us laugh."

You already made me laugh with your prune juice, coffee, ever-ready bunny story.  :o))

I can't thank you enough for the feedback (and that goes for everyone).  This forum is invaluable for people like me who pretty much jumped in knowing nothing. This is helping me so much.  I will definitely need this support to get through the treatment.  Is the treatment 24 or 26 weeks?

You can last!  My first shot kicked my butt and I had many of the same symptoms you describe.  I had a fever until Wednesday but did work every day.  I also felt like I needed to go to the bathroom.  I drank some prune juice and coffee and then an awful thing happened....I went and went and, well, I was like the ever-ready bunny.  My hiney is still sore!  These are the things that will ultimately make us laugh.

I took my second shot this past Friday.  It has been a totally different experience.  No body aches, chills or fever, loss of appetite...just a headache.  So I think it's a week to week thing.  Hang in there!

Karen,  you can do this!  Great way to look at the side effects.....and this will work!  One day at a time.  Hopefully, work will take your mind of the battle you are waging.  Stay strong!

Wow, you have a great attitude.  I did my first shot on Friday and I still didn't feel great today so I opted to work from home.  I feel like my whole inside hurts, my back hurts, and I hate to be so graphic but it seems I'm having trouble going to the bathroom.  Is that common?  My fever is down from 102 to 99 and the headache is finally gone. Does the fever last throughout treatment?  I am inspired by those who went through this...I hope I can last.

Way to go with that fighting attitude.  A positive attitude helps to get you through the day, especially with the challenges of a full day at work.  Drink plenty of water, try not let the trt consume your thoughts and do the best you can.  Hope you have some help at home, since a working women is often left with many chores to do when she gets home.  I hope your spouse/family will pitch in to assist.

Wish you the best on this journey.  Sounding great so far.
