According to info released by Vtx (don't have a link to give you right now), the side effects associated with Telaprevir are GI symptoms, anemia, and rash.  Since Ribavirin also causes anemia, there is a synergistic effect when Tpr and Ribavirin are taken together.  Ribavirin causes rash, too, but sometimes the Tpr rash is severe enough that subjects have had to stop tx.  So yes, the symptoms are similar to SOC tx, but they may be magnified when the third drug is added.

Congratulations on starting tx, glad you're doing well.  Welcome to the forum.  This is a great place for information and support.
