Hi I was like you and had to take meds (promethazine) to keep me from vomiting. Is there someone in the doctors office you can call to get something? Yes it made me sleepy however I figured I had to do what I could to get through the tx. The doc told me that it is a difficult treatment and some people can't keep it down without help. After a while I did not need the pills to help me. Eating enough is also essential
Good luck to you.
I agree with others who have responded. Drink fluids, call your doctor ASAP (tomorrow morning) and get Zofran. Ask him for additional advice. Raw ginger, candied ginger, and ginger tea can also help.

I had to double up on nausea meds. If you try just zofran and it isn't enough, I have the scopalomine patch. It takes both to keep me out of the bathroom.
With on going vomiting you run the risk of dehydration, be sure you put fluids back in and stay well hydrated.
I agree with Marty, you should call doc and not wait too long. Ask him to call in an anti emetic med and use as needed if the nausea and vomiting continues.
Good news is it takes meds between 30-60 mins to get absorbed, so you should have gotten the full doses before this happened. :)
I wouldn't wait another 2 days.
I'd call him first thing in the morning and demand decent nausea meds.
i'll let you know what my doc says when I see them in 2 days. Thanks again...
2 things helped me get through incivek.
First was ondansetron ( zofran) and the other was ginger chews I found at amazon.com
The ondansetron knocked out most of the nausea, but every once in a while I'd get that feeling like I only had seconds before disaster and I would suck on the ginger chew untill the nausea passed.
You may not have sabotaged your treatment. I know I threw up a couple of times after taking my meds, I think an hour once and 2 hours another time. The first time it went into the bathroom sink (I was brushing my teeth too soon after eating and taking meds) and I saw no pills. The second tinme I knew I was going to vomit, just came on, but I grabbed a big white bowl and puked in that. Neither time did I see any pills. Once was Incivek (so that could have blended right in with the vomit) and once was Riba (large blue pills so I should have seen them if they were in there). We do not usually totally empty our stomachs when we vomit (unless it is prolonged and continued vomiting) so hopefully the pills stayed in the stomach.
Hope you feel better soon and get something that works for you.
Oh boy... I thought it was normal to throw so much. Two wks. ago at my visit I had complained of nausea and the dr. said, "i can give you something but it will wipe you out". So I said never mind.
(So soon after the nausea resulted) in the past two wks. of throwing 3 to 4 times a day. Always 'after' the incivek and ribiviron pills though. I realized I was dehydrated from endless cycle of diarreha and throwing so i worked on that and the throwing the last 2 days is much less.
To think I have sabatogged (sp?) my self is killing me. This triple treatment has been horrid but I am sticking through. I haven't worked for 3 wks.
Anyhow I pray to God that I have been getting the full benefit of the meds. I have an appt. in 2 days. Wish me luck and thanks very much for your help... bless ya....Take care of yourself :)
I am not sure 2 hours is enough time to get the meds through the stomach and into the intestines. I just don't know that answer for sure. I believe it takes about 4 hours for the stomach to empty of food.
Regardless, if you are vomiting, I would discuss that with your doctor ASAP, like tomorrow, and get a prescription for the nausea and vomiting. I am on 8mg of Zofran every 8 hours and that works for me, but some people are on other antinausea meds.
Good luck.
It varies on what it is. Really whatever I feel I can swallow at the time.
530am 130pm and 930pm.
Are you taking them with food?
