sorry to hear of your problems. The brain chemistry is greatly effected by tx and what you are describing is bi-polar symptoms. Being bi-polar is one contraindicator for even starting tx as the tx makes it far worse. However tx can cause it in someone who never had it. One is more prone to this if there is a family history.
It just means your brain chemistry is more delicate and has broken down more due to the tx drugs. The sooner you get in to see someone the better as one can settle things down before drastic damage to one's self, or family, or job, occurs.
Try getting a recommendation from your oncologist ot hepatologist for a psychiatrist who deals with chemotherapy patients. They are generally more aware of the issues, severity, and need for chemical intervention than psychologists are.
That is, what occurs due to chemicals doesn't mean you need psychoanalysis or have issues, it means you need the normal brain chemistry restored and a psychiatrist can prescribe whatever medication is neccessary whereas a psychologist is more limited in this regard.
I know somewhat what you are experiencing, many of us have become very panic and anxiety prone who never were before as a result of this tx. I'm on 3 medications just to sleep and not to off and on cry all day. Mind you, I'm crying though I'm not depressed....this stuff really messes up ones calming chemicals like seratonin...and once you are stripped of this, you become a bundle of raw nerves and yes racing brain fartties.
Hope you can get the help you need, just don't be afraid to take something. Often people will take things for their sick bodies, but resist taking things for their minds...as if this is somehow a form of weakness. This has nothing to do with weak mindedness, it is chemistry, pure and simple. So just get in and get seen, OK??

Hi hon,
There are so many reasons this could be happening in you...the only way to solve it is to talk about it to the right people..they'll be medical and therapeutic and then there's friends...who can also be medical and therapeutic. This forum is the best place I have found to get sound and genuine advice from all of the above.
It's helping keep me sane...ish.

I was only on treatment for 14-weeks so I can't relate any personal experiences of recovery after 18-months. I had what I found to be very unpleasant psychophysical reactions to both Interferon and Ribavirin though. Even nearly two months after stopping, I don't feel like I have completely settled back into being my old self yet. After a longer treatment it makes sense that you might need more recuperation time.
Are you getting advice from a clinical psychologist or a psychiatrist at all? I just wanted to suggest that you actively seek a practitioner who has experience with the neuropsychological effects of Combo treatment. The treatment definitely can alter brain chemistry and Hep C symptoms can make a contribution too. Rather than immediately starting on antipsychotics, it be good if you could talk your options over with someone who can discern what is really going on.
ToX can throw the whole ecosystem off balance. Prolonged sleep disturbance alone can have a person bouncing off white walls. It is not impossible to slowly nurse brain chemistry gently back into shape given dedication, time, right balance of food, rest, sleep, exercise. Are you eating, sleeping, exercising properly???
Either way, I hope you don't just suffer this or leave for a long time. Go and find someone good to help you navigate your way through it.
Heartfelt best wishes.
Can only say sorry you are experiencing problems to that degree. I hope you are seeking professional help. There are very good antipsycotics to help ease the symptoms you have described. I have read a few posts where people have experienced your type of problems as well. Treatment for hepc is very very difficult for some and no two people are effected exactly the same. I hope in time you find a solution that benefits you long term. Best of Luck
