viral load

How long does it normally take for a viral load test to come back from lab? I go to labcorp. I am planning to have it done on Friday and made my appt. for next Wednesday. Is that long enough to get results? Thanks in advance. Hope everyone is doing great.

my experience with Labcorp is if you are detectable it takes around 10 days. If undetectable around 3-4 days.

I get my PCR done in the hospital here. Its also a Taqman PCR. So far I have gotten all of them back within 6 days. When the doctor gets to it is another story.

All in all you should have it within a week.

I live in a little one horse town, drive an hour north to my clinic for the blood draw and they are mailed to the Mayo Clinic labs in Rochester, MN. They run a Taqman PCR. It usually takes a couple of days because of the batching as Bill mentioned, but my last one drawn Mar. 23 I had back the next day. I must have timed tyhe batching right on that one!

Good luck in a quick turn around. The waiting seems endless!

It often depends on when they batch the tests; with Quest, it can take from seven to 10 days to receive results; Labcorp might be different, but I imagine similar. NAT tests aren't typically done locally; they have to be sent out to special labs. Why not call and ask?
