why is my husband shedding his skin on index finger

why is my husband shedding his skin on index finger for the past year , it is at the bottom of his finger and seems to keep going he is 60 years old hispanic, and  a bout 2 years ago he was complaning of it hurting below his ribs, however has not complained of that for the past 6 months

Forsee is right you probably need to post in the derm forum. It is true that there have been an excess of posts here lately that are in the wrong forum. we have had all kind of posts from lumpy labias to hurting nipples. Sorry we mean no offense but sometimes we just need some humor :-)

flaky nipples, shedding fingers? what is going on with this thread? Just kidding hardin, we just have some "dry" humor on here from time to time...me thinks you might be on the wrong forum though, unless your hubby has hepatitis (and I sincerely hope he doesn't)...the hurting below the ribs symptoms is a common one to hep though, so maybe just give us more info, if you have it...there are plenty of smart laypeople here, but we're not docs...I hope you have him go to a dermatologist, etc...
