When I came on it seemed death was looming and some of the older wiser experts held my hand. Even during the looney bin brain fog of tx. lol. I still have brain fog, but can't blame tx anymore.

Thank you. I do understand where you were coming from, and I was trying not to be thin skinned. And I also understand the frustrations that may arise over the issues of new meds, and the hysteria that may envelope this.
I just needed to let you know how I felt. Sometimes language is all we have when we don't know someone in the 'real' (sic) world.

Let me start off by saying I am sorry if some things that were said upset you, sometimes frustration takes over and things are said in the wrong way. Please understand that it's very important for the correct facts to be given. Besides myself and Hector there are many others that spend countless hours researching any thing and everything pertaining to Hep C.

We don't always get it right but we do try to make sure the info is correct. You mention, "I hate bandwagon jumping and being naive" well thats exactly what happens in forums if somebody don't speak up and correct false info. New people join, read what is posted and figure it is the truth and it just spreads. And from your post it's quite clear to me you not only want the correct info but you also want to give it When I agreed to Idyllic it was only about putting these things on the side. Since you just joined you are not aware of how many times this petition has shown up and like now there are several threads on the same thing and still there is the misleading of it all.

Unlike some others you seem very interested in doing research and that is great as I wish all would do that. Again I am sorry the way I came across but please give us "oldtimers" a break, sometimes we come across the wrong way but our only intention is to help others and post correct things. I have been around along time, maybe to long but I have also seen in that time many forums turn into ghost towns because nobody took the time to research and others just played "follow the leader".... I have read several of your prior posts and I really hope you stick around as you will be a great access here. Once again I am sorry and will hope you understand.

I am sorry you took that dialogue as an attack on you. You certainly did nothing that anyone here was condemning. As I remember,you simply posted a link about a petition as others have done in the past year.
This wasn't about you.
There were strong words about the reasoning behind the petition on both sides, but again it was not personally against you.
Don't give it another thought. Please feel free to ask questions and post as often as you like.

When I posted the above link to Margaret Dudley's Petition, I had only been a member of this forum for 2 weeks. I was humiliated enough by Hector and your comments, amongst others,  on the other site where Quest and some of you were discussing this, I mentioned I hate bandwagon jumping and being naive.
I have since read and researched, and am a lot wiser.
Suffice to say, the inference that somewhere in this conversation above, someone said '........Did you know there is a cure for hepatitis C but we may never see it?"....is untrue. And as only you, myself and Idyllic were the only posters in this thread, your comment .....'besides I wonder if some of these people are even aware of what the facts are' I felt was condescending.
As a new member, who began triple Tx mid February, I too was looking for support and affirmation that I am not alone on this journey to healing. I am just now disappointed with the shrill and arrogant bleating and castigating around Gilead and the new meds etc. From both sides.
I have felt that I am tarnished with the bleating, naivity brush, and have felt reluctant to speak and ask questions.
I can see that you have been a member of this forum for about 8 years. It has taken you a long time to get this wise. Please give some of us young ones a chance also to get wise.

I agree Idyllic, besides I wonder if some of these people are even aware of what the facts are.
There was only 88 people and not all was cured as was claimed and there was serious adverse effects in 4% of those. And to say this "Did you know there is a cure for Hepatitis C but we may never see it?" is kind of misleading as it sounds like as of now there is no cure. And besides there have been other drugs that blew up when they got into phase 3 trial so we don't know what the outcome might have been.

It is a shame things didn't work out but we cannot force a company to lose money or as Senator John Cornyn's staff member...in a nutsell...we have the right as consituents to "lobby and/or petition" for these drugs. ( Really???) And they will look into it but can't force two companies to work together...

There are less than 5,000 signatures so far, and the Whitehouse won't even look at it unless there are 100,000.
