Yes, but it's not the number I'm curious about. Has this happened before, where the NIH has stepped in and picked up a trial like this?
Susie, is the placebo only for the riba or does it involve PSI 7977 too? I would want to make sure that I am getting the experimental drug at some time during the trial.
I just found out that I will be accepted in to the PSI 7797 + riba or placebo trial. I am very excited as I can't take interferon due to it knocks my ANC down to 0. The clinical trial nurse told me if you get the placebo for the ribavirin there is a rescue arm that allows them to give you the ribavirin if you aren't responding well. I am a null responder with cirrhosis. The most exciting thing about the new drug, to me, is that there is a very high resistance barrier.
I read 80 on the clinical trials site. I think that is fairly substantial as these things go and it looks like they are only recruiting in Maryland which is where NIH is located. So I imagine this is a government funded study.
Has anyone seen the newest release that the NIAID is starting up a trial for PSI 7977 and Riba? I'm confused at this because I think it's under the NIH...a different department from the regular site of clinicaltrials.gov branch.
I noticed that the phase III of pharmassett's was mainly for 2's and 3's and the 1's were INF intollerant, but a couple of days (or maybe the same day), this other department was going to start a trial with 1's.
Anyone have any idea as to why this may be happening? I believe this other branch is only accepting about 60 patients in their trial.
How exactly does one 'knock' a sock off.... I managed to break both my heels a couple of months ago, and both my socks were still well attached, even after dragging myself back to street level where I could get someone to help... Some idioms are very silly.
