That is great to know about the peanuts. I will have to tell my granddaughter's mom. Peanut butter is a wonderful food. I make mine in my Montel food processor. A blend of different nuts I like.
I don't crave chocolate anymore but I have one sweet craving and oddly enough it kind of like yours. My sister-in-law makes butter caramels and sends me a monthly supply. I try to limit myself to one a day. She said she would give me the recipe and I said no.....they'd find me in a sugar coma. LOL. And potato chips I try to keep out of the house, especially ruffles, because I will eat the whole bag in a day or two.
Don't know if this still holds true but when my sister had her gall bladder stones they removed them and gave her a do and don't eat food list...wish I still had it....the one thing I remember from it though was not to get potato chips....she and I both freaked because we loved them. There was a whole list.
one thing i've noticed since ending treatment is that i can tolerate much more spicy food now and i'm less tolerant of sweets....interesting...
i don't have huge hunger but of course i keep eating...
Peanuts are part of the pea family, and are grown in the ground. They are not a tree nut. Most people I've met are allergic (anaphylactic) to both, but not me! It's been over 15 years since my reaction to nuts, and I can still eat peanuts but not nuts.
Really? I thought if you were allergic to nuts you couldn't eat peanut butter. That's what the literature the pediatrician and allergist gave for my one granddaughter who is allergic to nuts. Wow..
I agree. That's why I limit myself. I was taught moderation and portion control. I eat natural unsalted peanut butter, yum! I'm allergic to nuts so it's a treat for me.
Oh and p.s. Butter toffee covered peanuts = sugar/salt/protein/fat.... you are probably craving the salt and sugar both which should be cut down on. How about some unsalted peanuts instead? = pure protein & needed fat
I know sooner or later I will not be able to eat everything...but I.eat hot and spicy...love Indian, Cuban, Thai, Mexican foods...eat almost everything right now...I use a lot of spices since I've cut down sodium/salt and sugars. I do miss a good steak or burger since I have eliminated red meat...and I eliminated deep fried foods. Have just learned to eat healthier, more fruits/veggies and eat in moderation...try to eat total meal equal to the size of my fist....smaller is better for me and I drink coffee, tea and a lot of water. I am not on tx but ESLD Stage 4 cirrhosis w/decompensated liver or I would have been. I unfortunately or fortunately have a healthy appetite even when ill. I hope that stays true....good food is only vice left.
I am sorry for everyone who is having eating problems. That must be awful and frustrating for you and I don't look forward to the day. Let's keep our fingers crossed we all get through this craziness and can enjoy a good meal and life.
The list of food I can eat is limited. It's very difficult to force myself to eat at all. I tried smoking stuff but that just gave me a worse headache and tinnitus. Thanks for sharing. Your last tx? That's great news (if I understand 'incidious' correctly).
Without sounding grumpy, there is nothing I miss in regards to eating. I just miss being interested in food generally. It's enough to find something each day I CAN eat. I miss feeling good.
So, there's your answer. Re; craving. Water is about all I crave. I crave that everything will be easier after tomorrow, when I take my last Incidious.
