sorry for your loss... they are our family members. Our 17 yr old cat died last thursday...
07/06/07 I lost my baby...She was a pic-a-poo...she was 20 years old/10 lbs. I am still not over it. I won't consider another dog/baby...it has just been too hard. And there will never be another Panzy.
I'm sorry for your loss.
I worry a lot about my fat cat! Getting old, hard for him to jump up and sleeps ALL the time! Loves to cuddle, I just dread the day! They are the best company animals!
When I finish tx, i will get a dog i think, wouldn't be fair now.
Harry again, so so sorry!
Yeah my siamese kitter kat died about 2 weeks after my treatment for no apparent reason...sux when your animals die. Still miss that kat.
I am so sorry to hear you lost your buddy. Try to remember the good times, it looks like he was well cared for and the time spent together is a gift.
I thought I sent you a note before, but I dont see it now. I hope I didn't say anything offensive to get it taken off.
I am a total dog lover, lost my good friend once too, so I know how hard it can be.. Just remember we are all here for a short time... and the love we share is whats important.

Your beautiful Buddy's eyes radiated love and a window into the soul of a gentle giant.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Wow, I did not expect this response at all, they really are our best unconditional friends.
Buddy's father was a Cane Corso Mastiff, his mother was a German Shepard, Boarder Collie mix. He was a smart one, we would hunt squirrels and coons together, and they would not out smart him. One summer a squirrel got into one of our wood stoves, when we let it out the chase was on, Bud got it ( he was gentle and wearey of his power ) , he carried it to the front door and took it out side. The critter then turned and bit him on the nose and would not let go. Bud was shaken his mellon and the thing would not let go.
this turned out to be his only scar.
...memories keep them alive eh. thanks everyone.
Harry
Sorry about Buddy :c
I checked out his pic, and what a great face he had.
We have two large animal dogs and I spend a lot of time with them. As treatment progresses, the less time I can stand being around people.
Our 12 year old Newfoundlander probably has a few more months - and even though we know this now, it is not going to be any easier when he goes.
My 9 year old Great Pyrenees Mountain dog is one of the loves of my life. I am a loner by nature and I cannot imagine my life without him.

Heart goes out to you! Family animals are more than that, they become our children, Our friends and joy.
I am so sorry.

For the joints would be HA......hylauralonic acid (sp?) they have used it for years on horses, injected into joints. Now they have it to take orally for humans & animals. I use it for my GSD that has severe hip dysplasia. It does her wonders.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your good friend Buddy. My Chocolate Lab Cocoa will be 9 years old at the end of December and although he still acts like a puppy, I do notice some limping now and then and when I see there, I think to myself how quickly the time is going by. Why can't they stick around for a while longer. Cocoa sits beside me on the couch when I'm not feeling well and he also like to climb in to bed with me and sleep right beside me until my husband comes to bed and then he gets up and goes to sleep on the couch in the living room.
I cherish this dog so I know exactly what you must be going through and my heart goes out to you. I hope that your memories of all the good times you've had with Buddy comfort you in the days ahead.
My thoughts are with you!
Godspeed Buddy!
very - very sorry for your loss...
Be well
sorry harry for your loss. sometimes losing a loyle friend like a dog is more difficult then losing a human. animals never hurt you or let you down but I have met many rotten people that will. hope it gets easier as time goes on
Harry

I have had some dogs but there was one that was extra speciall me and my girlfriend took 6 puppies 2 week olds there mother had died brought them up on supstitut had to feed them 8 times a day I think it was its 25 years ago .
She was so wise understood about 200words never had a dog lead when with me it was she that supervised me .
Had to take her to the wet when she was 11 years old we were very much in the forest could be there for 7, 8 ours sometimes when I got lost which i did quite often liked to wander out of tracks right in the wildernes and she loved it.
When the wet was given her the injection I hold her and said forest, forest and she looked happy, can´t write this without crying she really meant the word to me.
Anyway when driving away from the wet totally demastated i thought nobody can blame me if i get real drunk now , although i really felt an urge to do so I didn´t didn´t wanna dishoner her memory by doing so, since the dog never liked it when I had been.
You can see a picture of her if you click my profil shes the black my daughter is holding the one in the background is her grown up puppy one out of 9 (my exmother in law owned her very fine and kind but very stupid compared to her mother) she got by misstake with a just 8 months old rottwhiler didn`t thought he could deliver.
My deepest condolences to your loss.

I know that he was actually your "Buddy" by how many times he was mentioned in your posts. I had to put my old girl down because she was full of cancer and she was my best "buddy". We can never replace them but we can learn to love and be "best buds" with another one out there that needs us. My GSD Blaze would have been put down because of her severe hip dysplasia by someone else. She is now 7 and still doing OK and the only time she has ever gotten on the (white leather) couch was when I was tx'ing.
RAINBOW BRIDGE
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

We read many sad posts here, but this is the one that made me cry.
I lost my two beloved cats, Bob and Toby (21 years old) a couple of years ago, and the loss is still really painful. They were with me when I was going through other **** in my life. They seemed to understand and would stick to me like glue to get me through the rough times.
My condolences on your loss.
Kathryn
Aw Harry, I'm so sad for you..............that's a fine looking dog. I just know he hated to leave you. Goodbye, Buddy - you're already missed.

I am sorry for your loss. Though I am not a dog person, I have lost other pets before, my pet cats, pet birds, etc. It is always heartbreaking. I know it's like losing a member of your family. I'm sure that he knew that you loved him, too.

~~he knew whats up
The bond we form with our dogs is so strong. You hear stories all the time about how dogs can sense illness, save lives....I have no doubt~~they know what's up.
I am so sorry for the loss of Buddy. He was a true dragon slayer.

Harry,
I posted to your photo last night and then went and looked at him again now after I've awakened. I know that sometimes dogs are put on our journey with us for a reason. I had a little girl who got me through some of the bleakest times and I would not have made it without her constant companionship and unconditional love. I hope the spirit of my old blind jack russell with the tin foil hat finds your Buddy. She was my life and heart and the best thing I can hope for is that she will have friends on the other side.
Harry,
It is difficult to find words, when someone loses a loyal companion, As you understand so well, they are our family - and I'm sorry for your loss. No one can look at Buddy's image without eyes welling up.. even a tough guy like me. It is gut wrenching. You've been through a lot together, and although feeling the pain now he remains alive in your mind and heart. That will become more apparent as time passes. You will find yourself sitting someday and a smile will appear as fond memories come and those you'll always have. Wow, I don't know what else to say except sorry you're feeling the pain. It is a sad time and you'll always miss him.
