2 positive HSV test, 1 negative HSV

Hello,

I have been in a monogamous relationship for 3 years and my boyfriend was a virgin before me. Before him, I had a few encounters with this guy that I didn't really know. After that I had gotten many reoccurring yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. However, that stopped for a while. I didn't test positive for HSV 1 and 2 for about 2 years. However, I recently tested positive for HSV 2 twice with the same gyno. But I went to my primary doctor who also specializes in women's health and requested for another blood test. This time, both HSV 1 and 2 were both negative. So I don't really know if I have HSV 2 or not. I never experienced a typical outbreak except for a yeast or bv infection that I heard could be confused with HSV 2 symptoms. I recently was diagnosed with the yeast and bv again and I was concerned if it might have been HSV 2. I'm just confused on whether or not I have HSV 2 or not.

Thanks much for reading

Thanks Grace,

Would I have to go to my health provider for this?

I recommend a confirmatory blood test like the biokit hsv2 igg or a herpes WB.
