Am I HSV positive?

I had a sexual partner inform me she was HSV positive after we had oral and vaginal sex.  Approximately 3-4 weeks later I started having rough patches, burning, tingling and swelling all over inside of my mouth then tiny red ulcers that would pop up and then disappear almost in the same day. This occurred inside my mouth, but never outside of my mouth.  This went on for 2-3 months without stopping.  I saw my Dr. and Dentist who both told me it could be HSV1 but very doubtful.  It never stopped so I went back and my Dr. gave me 3 day Valtrex which seemed to help but it came right back after it ran out. Again, he told me it is not Herpes, but I cannot help but think that it is.  Now, 3-4 months later I have burning and shooting pains in my genitals but no blisters or ulcers and it burns when I urinate. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

start as tiny pin point size red dots then turn into more of a cut like sore. Come and go in a day or two. One might have gone 3-4 days.

I appreciate your response very much, thank you.  I'm scared to death I have picked up HSV of some type, but even after telling my Dr about this he told me I don't have it.  He put me on 500mg of Valtrex today for the next 30 days just because I asked him to. I'll see if it helps. Can you tell me what I need to watch for both oral and genital in regards to symptoms and signs of HSV?  Thanks again.

My exposure was over 70 days ago. The oral problem started approx. 3-4 weeks after exposure and the genital problem started approx. 65 days after exposure.  Is this any type of indicator?

Hi, If your male, giving oral to a female and contracting herpes, the sores would be on the lips not inside the mouth. Recurrent outbreaks could occur inside the mouth but not from a recent infection and they would be rare. They dont come and go in the same day. Urethra irritation could be a symptom of a coming infection but if no white discharge appears then there is no infection. To get confirmation, have your mouth and urethra swabbed and have a herpes blood test.
