Am I alone?

I have frequent outbreaks while taking Valtrex daily but my doctor doesn't believe me does anyone else have them taking Valtrex daily?

ask your provider to up your dose to the 1gm daily dose. if you are still getting ob's this often, you probably need the higher dose to better suppress the virus.

if you are still getting more than 2-3 recurrences a year on the higher dose, I recommend working with a dermatologist to try to make sure it's all herpes going on.  You certainly can have more than just hsv2 going on genitally so if on the higher dose you are still getting symptoms, trying to make sure other skin issues aren't going on is a good idea.

best of luck!

I had a culture. I get the tingling area cluster of blister like lesions that scab over, dry up, area looks red afterwards and goes away. I take 500mg of Valtrex daily. I went to PCC with outbreaks a couple of weeks ago. My doc believes I have the outbreaks but basically thinks I'm lying about taking medication every day I guess because he keeps saying it's unheard of maybe once a year but not frequent like mine. Who wants to brag about outbreaks? Crazy!

how were you originally diagnosed as having genital herpes?

what are your symptoms you are getting?

are you taking 500mg daily or 1 gm daily of valtrex?

have you been seen when you have your symptoms recently for an exam?
