Can I have gotten genital herpes (no, not cold sores) in my mouth?

Hey,
So this past weekend I had unprotected sex with a girl I had met at the bar. I know, I drunken mistake that wont be repeated. Anyways, Ive had oral herpes (cold sores) all my life, but now a week removed from my contact with this girl the sores in my mouth are coming up places they have never been. They have almost always been on my lower lip, and only one at a time. Now I have 2 on my uppermost gums beneath my upper lip for the first time ever. Is it possible that I got genital herpes and somehow they are coming up in my mouth? or that they are causing my oral herpes to be inflamed? Thanks for your time.

ulcers inside your mouth and on your gums, typically are canker sores and not oral herpes. I agree, see your provider if you are concerned.  did you perform oral sex on this gal?

since it was unprotected sex, you should consider following up with proper std testing. gonorrhea and chlamydia can be tested for anytime after 1 week. syphilis anytime after 6 weeks. herpes and hiv anytime after 3 months. discuss with your provider if testing for hepatitis is warranted or not too.

The best thing to do is have your doctor look at what is going on.  Herpes won't come and go in a few days.  It comes stays a while and then leaves to return later on.  Follow up with either your doctor or dentist.  Chances are this isn't herpes but something else.  You would only get oral herpes from her from kissing or having done oral sex on her.

It's a possibility but one encounter is low risk and so I would not assume this is the case.
