What if you had hsv1 on genitals. Is that easy to spread to partner.
Do you have HSV1 or HSV2, this is critical to the answer.
If HSV1 then antivirals provide little additional protection to the already very low probability of transmission. If he has HSV1 already, which is a good chance, then there is no real chance of transmission.
If HSV2, then yes, a daily regime of antivirals and condoms provides outstanding protection for your partner.
There is no benefit in your partner taking antivirals in terms of transmission rates.
