Can a HSV2 infected person marry

I am (28 year old) infected with HSV2 for the past 14 years and tested negative for HIV. I am about to marry a girl who is negative for both the viruses. I have two questions here

1. Is there any chance of me infected with HIV
2. Is marriage a no do or a do with certain precautions.

Answer to the above questions will give me some relief from the mental torture.

Thank you very much in advance

any hiv questions should be asked on the hiv forum. we don't deal with hiv test results here on the herpes forum.

I am confused as to the testing you had done.  How were you diagnosed as having hsv2?d o you get genital lesions or was it only thru a blood test?

Thank you very much for your input. Sorry 2 years before I was detected positive for HSV1 genital (1gM) and negative for 1gG. Negative for HIV and HSV2.  14 years ago I was child abused orally and hence the virus. Now, I want to marry get a child, shouldn't infect my spouse or child and lead a normal life. Is that possible? Except for the abuse I am good. Though tested negative for HIV got the numerical value of 0.69. Does it mean that I am susceptible to AIDS?

Your answer will help me to come out of the mental agony.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, legal in all 50 states for straights. Gays can only marry in Mass. and Cali. But herpes doesn't have much to do with it. If it did, 80% of the population couldn't get married.

Can an HSV2 infected person marry? Are you in the U.S.? Last time I checked, marriage was legal in 48 states for straights and legal in 2 states for gays. HSV2 doesn't have anything to do with those laws.

So the answer is, yes, a person with HSV2 can marry.
