Monogamous and now have hsv1 genital herpes?

I have been HSV tested twice, once when my partner and I got together and once when I was pregnant with our child in Jan 2016. Both Test results negative for both types each time. He tested positive HSV1 (orally, but hasn’t had a cold sore for prolly 10 yrs) when we got together 2014. Mind you, neither of us have ever been properly educated on herpes. I just found out so much this week about the disease. This past summer I had a razor burn looking spot that intrigued me a tiny bit. I googled and chalked it up to razor burn/folliculitis. No big deal. Life went on. 2 weeks ago I had shaved and felt a razor burn feeling immediate and after sex that night I had a painful raw feeling and the next day it burned when I urinated. I told my husband. The following day my husband said his penis was getting raw. Later that night he said he has something going on. The day before I broke out with 3 spots exactly like what I had over the summer. ALERT! So after googling we are pretty sure it’s herpes. He claims I’ve been unfaithful. Not the case. My assumption is he gave me Genital hsv1 and since we had sex during an outbreak now he has it genitally also. He says he has been faithful as well so it’s the only possible way we both now have Genital hsv1. My outbreaks have been very mild and in fact I don’t recall any initial outbreak. His outbreak he is having is pretty bad he says. He simply doesn’t believe this is possible due to conflicting things we have read online. I have found studies that say it can happen and then there are people who say no way can you get hsv1 later in a new area. Please help. We are currently awaiting test results. Thank you.

The odds he has oral hsv1 passed it to you genitally and then you passed it from vaginal intercourse to him are extremely low. I won't say it's impossible but i will say it's close. Did he get lesions or just a raw feeling? He may have yeast. I wish you the best of luck figuring this out.
