Can i get Herpes this way?

I started dating this girl about a month ago and two saturdays ago we started making out in my bed and one thing led to another.  My penis may have slightly rubbed up against her vagina for a quick second or two (no sex or penetration) before she told me she had herpes.  She said she hadn't had an out break in a year, but after that point there was no more genital touching.  3 days after the night we were together i started feeling something like jock itch and I'm worried i have herpes.  I seem to have irritated skins around the inner of my thighs and the back of my left leg.  Also the back of my scrotum seems irritated as well.  I don't see any cold sores any where.  My penis the only part of my body to touch her vagina has no irritation or cold sores.  It has been 9 days since the night and my skin is still irritated.  What are the chances i picked up herpes from her?  I have a doctors apt tomorrow.  I am freaking out.

you really can't assume it's hsv2 because it's genital dear. If you guys are under 30, it's just as likely to be hsv1 which is why asking questions is so important :)

You can contract herpes from skin on skin contact but the risk of such is very low. It's the heat and friction of the sex act that is the risk and even that is very low overall.

If your gf has hsv2 and you did absolutely nothing but avoid sex anytime she had anything going on genitally, you'd be 96% likely each year NOT to contract hsv2 from her. Did you know the risk to you was that low?

don't be scared of std's, be educated :)

Thanks for replying Grace.

hsv2 i am assuming since it was genital.  I don't know how she treats her herpes.  I am getting tested tomorrow.  How much contact would be needed in order to contract herpie's from her?  I don't plan on ever getting in bed with her without putting a condom on first, but i have heard you can get it even if you don't wear a condom, that is why i am freaked out.

you didn't contract herpes from your gf.

does your gf have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? how does she treat her herpes? You need to know this information before you can decide what precautions to take together.

have you ever been tested to know your own status?
