Can you get herpes through fingering?

My ex and I were fooling around and he ended up fingering me. We did not have sex or any oral sex like giving heads or me touching his thing. the next following week I found out he has herpes. It has been six months now and I started scrubbing and washing my vagina. A couple of weeks later small little bumps started forming and my vagina has been itchy and and sensitive. Do I have herpes or is it just irritation from the soap?

Thank you so much. I just hope I really don't have it.

Scrubbing and washing your vagina too much can cause just as many problems as not washing it at all.  At this point just wash it once daily in the shower as you normally would.

You need to follow up on all of this.  You know you possibly once had a sexual partner with genital herpes ( just his fingering you wasn't a risk ). You should err on the side of caution and see what your own herpes status is just in case when you were intimate with him, he was infected and never knew it.
