In April of 2013, I had a 1 night stand, protected, with a firefighter tested regularly. In the heat of the moment, nothing really crossed my mind, but the next day, I was beating myself up and regretting my poor choice. Fast forwarding, I was tested in August/September of 2013 and received a call from the doctor stating I have Herpes and to take an aggressive dose of Acyclovir and it'll go away. I was confused by this, because I thought once you caught it, you have it forever. I completed my dose and went in for a check up. The doctor deemed me as cured and said my case was strange. She saw HSV-2 in my cell pattern, but saw no signs elsewhere (topical or in my blood). She felt confident that I don't have it and that maybe it was a false positive. I had to get tested for my job, which is overseas. Once I arrived in the country I'm working in, I had another medical (October 2013) and was tested for Hep A,B,&C, HIV/AIDS, and other viruses that may be transmitted. Everything turned up negative and deemed to be in good health. I haven't had any trouble prior to or since getting tested in Aug/Sept. However, there was a small, what looked to be more of a burn, rather than a lesion, that was painless majority of the time. The only time I had discomfort was when I was wiping and it was very minimal. I've had that before in my mouth when I was younger from my braces rubbing against my gums, so I thought it was a friction burn from my rubber/silicone vibrator. It was gone within 4 or 5 days and I've had no symptoms or anything since. Would someone be able to offer some insight on this?
