Care during an outbreak

"First outbreak" not confirmed by blood, just a visual/a pelvic exam. I was prescribed acyclovir 400mg 3xd but is not helping. It only got worse. I cant pee, I can barely walk and not even ice is helping since nothing is really swollen, just absolutely raw with a throbbing pain. How do I care for ulcers? How do I keep the area clean? if the area is naturally wet how do I keep it dry? The discharge is not helping at all. I use medicated cornstarch and nothing. When does this med start to work for you and how soon before or after an outbreak do you take it? Thanks ;)

I'm married so no I do not use condom and maybe that was a mistake but nothing I can do now.

Thanks for your answer. It is very hard with all the discharge coming down. I am much better today.

Your doing a good job on them. For a woman keeping them dry is not easy like you said. The primary outbreak can be nasty painful. Future outbreaks won't be this bad at all.
