Cold Sore???

How do you distinguish a cold sore from a blister/pimple/cyst/derma logical problem ?

I had something on my lip which started as a raised lip then a single blister which ulcerated and disappeared completely to like a hole in my lip in 24-48 hours.

There was no hard scab/yellow scab nor was anything bright red.

Does this seem like a cold sore..........................

Most herpes lesions need 5 plus days to heal and disappear.

Any IgG type specific. My worker friend has them a few time a year and it always ends up with a yellow scab on it.

However there must be some distinguishing characteristics?

which blood test do you recommend?

Visual diagnoses are inaccurate. Only a swab test in the positive is confirmation that the lesion is probably herpetic.
In this case, you can have a blood test to learn your status.
