Cold sore from makeup brushes?

Hi all,

I had a questions. I recently got my makeup done a couple of weeks ago for a wedding. The makeup artist that was doing the bridal party traveled to the house we were getting ready at. I had the first makeup appointment for the morning, which was the first appoint for the whole day for the artist. Now it's been over two weeks and I woke up with a burning red spot on my upper lip. It's on the border of my lip, and it's tender to the touch. It's noticeably pink/red, and I don't know what it is! Could this be a cold sore? I've been tested before and I know I don't have the virus! What are you thoughts? Could I have gotten something through the artist's makeup brushes?

The lady also used a lipliner directly onto my lips, and then a brush to apply lipstick/gloss. Thanks!
