Cold sore or impetigo perhaps?

I have had this thing on my face for about a year now that comes up in small blisters and then crusts over and peels off. It is located on my cheek and I recently had a test for cold sores and it came back negative, but I put cold sore cream by chemists own (aciclovir 5%) on it and that seems to work. What is it?? I remember placing Bactroban on it which seemed to speed up the healing process, could this cold sore cream help a bacterial infection or could bactroban help a cold sore? Please help
P.s the blisters come up small and then pop and crust over yellow like a weeping cut, it has only had one big blister before. I placed betadine on it and that seemed to help but so did bactroban, it also tingles before it comes up and gets itchy but NEVER hurts!

correction, they could have a yellow stage before custing over but is the fliud is puss, this would not be consisitant with herpes as is clear liquid.

Yes, a herpes lip sore would most be painful but again, being yellow fluid would pretty much rule out herpes. Have a blood test

Hi, I had the blister swabbed for herpes and it came up negative. The doctor though said there was a 5% chance the testing missed it because I does really sound like a cold sore. Aren't cold sores meant to be painful? Mine has never hurt and has only been itchy. Could it possibly be impetigo because these look similar and impetigo only itches doesn't hurt??

Hi, because they are yellow you can pretty much rule out herpes but the other symptoms do match herpes. Did you take a blood test for herpes? A blood test would not show recent herpes infection so i would advise having them swabbed the next time they appear to rule herpes out. That 5% herpes cream does not work, only taking oral antivirals effect hereps.
