HELP! rough sex abrasion or herpes??

I recently had intercourse with my partner and was abstinent for a month before that. I felt a break in the skin after the first 20 minutes or so due to friction, which is common for me. I could tell I was going to be sore after but on the second round i felt even more sore and knew tommorrow i would have an abrasion. When i woke up the next day I felt burning when i urinated which wasnt associated with my urethra and when i looked I had 2 abrasions on each side of my labia on the inside part.It wasnt like what I normally experience though. This time they looked like how it would look when you cut yourself and then a few days later its kinda white and red from healing. could this be herpes?? ive gotten little abasions from friction but not this bad and it hasnt gotten worse but hurts and do not know if herpes could just show up like that. neither of us had any lesions anywhere on our body. im so scared.

You can shed the virus (and infect people) inbetween active outbreaks. It is stated all over this forum and on all reliable sources of information regarding herpes. Please adjust future advice accordingly.

Regarding the original post; It doesnt sound like herpes, especially not since you said you could feel it after 20min. Have a doctor look at it so you can get help regardless since it bothers you! If doubt remains you can always take a blood test 3 months after the incident. Good luck and I think you will be fine!

You can only contract herpes II from partner who has an active outbreak, or is getting over an outbreak.  When cells are shedding, it can be difficult to know if you are still contagious.

You didn't say that your partner has the virus, so the only way you are going to know for sure is to have doctor take a tissue sample. It needs to be done at a time when you have lesions.

Try to stay calm.  I have had herpes II since early 80s.  Never think about it now.  Easy to detect and treat.
