Cold sores

I have never had a cold sore that I can remember so I'm not sure thats what this is I thought it was a zit I have them spaced out one on my lip and one below on my chin I didn't notice  them till I was brushing my teeth this evening they are just red not to big my fear is that I missed my daughters cheek and head today and she's only 8 months old I'm terrified can you give it to her if that is what it is I didn't know they were even if there or I never would kissed her does your lip swell before they come up and are they flat bumps before they turn to blisters? So scared I can't sleep trying to ease my mind my daughter headbutted me by accident yesterday so I don't know if the swelling is from that or something else can chapped lips cause flatbumps
