Coldsore and valtrex

I have been prescribed valtrex for about 3 months now and this is my second time taking it. I felt that I was getting a cold sore yesterday morning and I took my dose 500ml every 12 hours for one day and I see that it dried up. But I see another one coming. Can I take another dose today or do I have to wait a couple of days? I have a big meeting coming up and next week and and starting to freak out but dont want to OD and have some weird side affect.

it's 2gms twice a day for 1 day for the cold sore dose. if you have 500mg pills, you take 4 of them at a time.

meanwhile try steeping a tea bag and when it's luke warm, hold it on the cold sore area too several times a day.  also ice to the area is also helpful at making it look less red if you weren't successful in preventing a full blown recurrence.
