You have no reason to be worried at all.
Often when we (those of us with oral HSV1) get sick an outbreak can sometimes accompany the illness. This is because our immune system is a bit down. It is not the HSV1 that is making us sick overall.
The sheer numbers of people that have oral HSV1 means that no one can assume they do not have the virus. You could have a type specific test that may well be clearer in terms os showing a positive or otherwise for HSV1.
Really though, I wouldn't bother. We all know to keep sores away from other people regardless of what they are and that is all that is needed or required of someone with this virus.
To continue my last post, healed in 5 days, which isn't typical from what I've seen. It just had me worried and I probably have no reason to be worried.
Would it be safe to assume that I don't have either type? I know I don't have genital. The only reason I tested was because I was recently sick and had something small on my lip. It didn't look like a typical cold sore and the doctor I seen said the same thing. It didn't have noticeable blisters and I didn't even notice it until I looked in the mirror. People I live with didn't notice it until two days after I first noticed it and I pointed it out to them. It was healed in
Over 50% of the population carry the HSV1 virus into adulthood.
If you've experienced oral cold sores then there is good reason to suspect you carry the HSV1 virus since your youth.
Unless you have had genital lesion symptoms or perhaps had a partner discuss that they have genital herpes with you, then I'd agree that there is no reason to test any further.
So disregard the test and just move on?
it shows a low positive but that now means nothing as could be a combined of both hsv1, 2 and chicken pox
What would you say about the result?
Hi, yes the combined test is only good for showing a negative but if a positive shows up then its useless.
