Do i have herpes?

Hi there i am so embarrassed about this, i have noone to talk to...

one morning i woke up and i had a big lump in my groin on the right hand side (lymph nodes i think) and for the past two or three days i thought id had terrible thrush and id been itching really badly at night... and it all came to a head when i took a look and it looked like ulcers - two on my clitoris and one big one underneath where id been scratching.. then one of the ones on my clitoris went yellow and dissapeared.

since then ive never been right since, this was about 8 months ago. everytime i masturbate i have a weak spot on my clitoris , and it gets sore afterwards and i look at it and it looks exactly the same as it did 8 months ago when it was an ulcer.. i havent had anything anywhere else since and its just the one spot but its causing me real misery..

i have had a swollen groin a couple of times since but everytime i have this i either am really run down or i have the same sore as before, i just checked now and i have it again.

i have been to the STD clinic twice and the doctor, the STD clinic said they couldnt test for herpes until i had an outbreak.. and they said i had something that was non-sexually transmitted but i cant remember what they said. and i said do i need to take anything and they said no.. and that as long as i didnt get any symptoms there was no need. reading some stuff here i think its that BV thing that she said.. but i cant be sure.

i feel so dirty and upset about all this..

and i went to the doctor and she said it didnt sound like herpes, she said that it could be a bad case of thrush.. i dont know tho  i am sure i have it..

please can someone give me some advice. or just tell me that its all gonna be ok!

thanks

You need to get an IGG Herpes Select Test ASAP to rule out herpes HOWEVER, what you have described pretty much matches Herpes!!! The ulcers, lymph node pain, itching, yellow ulcers. That pretty much in my book suggests Herpes but it is easy to be wrong so that is why you need to get a blood test done ASAP!!! Do NOT get an IGM Test. You want the Herpes Select IGG Test... Let us know how it turns out... You are NOT alone so relax!! Many people have this disease. Half the population has HSV1 and one out of 4 or 5 have HSV2 so it is pretty common...

Sorry, but we can't second-guess a health care practitioner in real life. How come you don't just take their word for it and move on? If you feel like you need further work-up, go and get it. If you are "sure" you have herpes and discount what your health care provider said, why did you bother going to the doctor?
