Can’t tell if it’s herpes

Hello,

About one month ago I foolishly had unprotected sex with a couple different females which is something I am usually much more careful about. Fast forward to 3 weeks later and I was attempting to masturbate when the head of my penis became very irritated and slightly inflamed which I have never experienced before. I do masturbate pretty regularly and initially thought maybe it was one time too many without enough recovery. My penis remained slightly irritated/sensitive for about 4-5 days but inflammation went down within a couple days. However I did start to get a slight burning sensation when I urinated shortly after my penis became irritated. This problem lasted a little under a week as well. When this all took place I became panic stricken and went to Planned Parenthood for STD testing which all came back negative. However I was never tested for herpes because I did not have actual lesions on my genitals.

The following week after that was feeling ill (weak, slight nausea) and I became very stressed/afraid that this was because I must have picked up herpes because from what I have read painful urination and flu-like symptoms are signs of an initial outbreak. So I went to a Dr to get checked out. They tested my urine and vitals again and I did not have any STDs or a UTI for that matter. Once again they did not test me for herpes but they did do a visual examination of my penis and said that it’s not likely herpes because I definitely should have had some form of lesion by that time and that if lesions were to show up for me to come back and they will test them. Then they sent me on my way.

Fast forward to early this week. One night just I couldnt sleep. I was sick to my stomach and stressed/anxious because I just couldn’t shake the thought of not being 100% sure whether I have herpes or not. So this time it was due to the fact that I had begun to develop some itchiness/tingling on my scrotum and I noticed what looked like slight chafing in the folds of my scrotum. I went to the emergency room immediately!  Again a visual examination was done and I was told that it definitely does not look like herpes and that it could very well be some form of rash due to the fact that I work in construction and it was a very very hot day. They also said that judging from the timeline of my last unprotected sexual encounter that I should have experienced some form of blister/lesion and that whatever was on my scrotum does not resemble herpes. I felt a little bit of relief but not much.

Fast forward to today and the rash on my scrotum has diminished but is still there just slightly. However, the itchiness/tingles in my scrotum are still very present and it’s been about 4-5 days. I’m really not sure if this is because it has been very hot and at work and I have been very sweaty. But Im still terrified that maybe it’s a beginning stage of a herpes outbreak but wouldn’t I have had some form of an actual lesion and not just something that resembles minor chafing? I’m so paranoid at the moment. I keep looking and looking and looking at everything but there are no signs of blisters. The head of my penis seems to have some discoloration but definitely no blisters or raised bumps and at this point I don’t know if it’s always been that way or if it’s something else or if I’m just paranoid and have been staring waaaay to much at my penis and testicles.

Does any of this sound like it may be herpes or is much of this just being caused by my anxiety and stress levels? Please, any input would be helpful.

I had very similar symptoms, right at the 3 week mark i irritation on the head and felt a very sharp pain when it rubbed on my underwear, still kinda dealing with some testicle pain at 5 weeks. From what I've been assured though by several doctors and a urologist is that is almost certainly not herpes. Only way to know for sure is blood test at 12 weeks but it should bring you some peace of mind knowing your timeline doesn't fit herpes nor do symptoms

Yeah I feel a little bit at ease being told multiple times that if it were heroes it would’ve showed up by now, but there’s still that unknown factor that remains in the back of my head driving nuts
