Could this be oral Herpes

I've recently been noticing some dry skin at the corner of one side of my lips and it's become crusty and brown and was previously itchy. For only about a week now my lips have become overly dry and I felt swelling in my lymph nodes and had a sore throat. The tiny bump i have forming on the insde of my upper lip does not look like any of the pictures of herpes that I have seen on the internet but the swelling throat and overly dry lips seem to be symptoms of herpes. Also I've been seeing this guy for the past few weeks and have given him oral sex and the week after I did it was when I got the sore throat which made it hard to swallow.  followed by other cold symptoms. I'm just scared of the miniature bump that has appeared inside my lip however its not white like many of the herpes bumps ive seen in picture, but still pink. My lips went from being perfectly soft and hydrated a month ago to super dry and scaly and I believe it all started after I performed oral sex on this guy.

So just as a follow up for anyone who may be reading this post who may have experienced similar symptoms, The bumps I found on my lips and the super dryness were just due to the fever/flu I had caught and were just a result of my lowered immune system at the time.

Cheers :)

To me when someone says they are seeing the tiniest of bumps that means that they are paying way too close attention to their lips.  Back away from the mirror slowly dear....

Abreva doesn't really do a heck of a lot for cold sores. It only heals them a few hours sooner than using  a placebo. It's WAY overpriced.  Just continue to use a good lip moisturizer.

I've begun to see the tiniest bumps but my doctor's appointment is only in two weeks but Im really scared because I think I have it. :( I was wondering about HSV-1 AND hsv-2, can you get HSV-2 on your lips? And if I have HSV-1 can that only be passed through mouth to mouth contact/ sharing lipgloss or can I get it from performing oral sex too?
Also I was wondering If I could use Abreva (cold sore medication) on my lips even though none have the bumps have actually opened yet?

it could take that long if it's a newly acquired infection.

Ok thanx for the insight, however is it normal to take up to 3 weeks for a cold sore to heal? I've never gotten one before

This could be a cold sore healing, it could be angular chelitis or it could even be irritation/chapped lips.  If you are concerned, follow up on it with your medical provider.
