Dear Doctor

Dear Doctor,
I was hoping you could offer any information to me as I'm uninsured and will seek medical help as soon as I can afford to see a doctor, In the meantime you may be able to ease my mind here a bit..
Ok my health history has been good i have have back & neck pain for 4 yrs from an auto accident.
My concern here is I kissed a man kinda heavy kissing, The very next day my lip felt a little funny then exactly 4 days after my lip was not only feeling okward tingling, and my upper top lip started to look a bit swelled and almost like cracked looking, from the mid center area going almost inside my inner lip ok so it was very uncomfortable then finally what looked like a cold sore appeared on the top of my upper lip then as that healed i had one just to the right of the first one and then another and also at this time the roof of my mouth is slightly inflamed on the left side ok so no its affecting my bottom lip as well most of the time these sores just look like an ulcer and they dont scab over and i don't notice fluid.
My lips itch burn feel warm slightly swell they drive my crazy and the worst part is is now its my lips top and bottom and the roof of my mouth all feeling uncomfortable and this has been going on for about 52 long days i can see tiny little white bumps on my top lip in the center and very tiny red spots i have been using alot of chap stick
This seems to me like HSV 1 but it has been going on for the 52 days and that seems long for hsv1 should i see an std clinic regular doctor or dentist for the best help
also is there any other conditions you think this could be besides HSV Thank you so much Doctor for your help to me and all the others you help on this site

this is not the doctor's forum - you have to pay to post there.

pretty much at this point,52 days into this, you can be assured this is not oral herpes going on.

call your local health department to see what your local low cost/no cost options are for being seen.  anything going on this long that doesn't get better isn't something you can afford to put off dealing with any longer.

Ok im not a doctor but i had the same problem and eating was out of the question because i let it get so bad it went down my throat as well it started with one then spread like wildfire..... i went to the doc and i dnt quiet remeber the name but the doc said normally only babys get it but adults can get even though its rare. he gave me antibotic pills and numing syrup that was pink. It is very painfull after a while if not treated but my guess is thats what it is and you may want to see a doc or go to the er and they will work with you financially and give u huge discounts if you dont have much money thats what i had to do hopefully this info is helpful to you
