21yr old male hepres outbreak extremly swollen groin lymphnoids

Okay i had problems figuring out where to post this so I wemt with my best guess. Here we go. Both me and my fiancee have herpes2 i contracted it in november 2013 after me and him had split for a year. So he had to possibly 2 years. Me and him are both going through the worst breakout weve ever had his are always worse then mine thou. Hes a 21yr old male. he was sick 6-8 days ag. We were  sure with what may of been a upper respatory infection. he had a fever, severe back ache but his back always hurts and he had been pull lots of overtime at work so it chould be from that. he also had splitting headaches and ocassionally dry heaving. This lasted 2 days. He was fine this whole week after.other then our outbreak. untill yesterday his left llymph node in his groin started swelling and was tender. now its atleast a inch in diameter and he is having severe pain when he touches it walks or sits up or down into a sitting position. He says he feels sick and has been sleeping alot. Had a slight fever last night but a normal temp today. Reasearched why the gland whould swell and herpes came up so I was curious if its the culprit. I know that im nervous like every man hes refusing to see a doctor but after 7 yrs off and on with him. I know how his pain tolerence is and hes in more pain then ive ever seen him in other then toothaches and infection earilier this year from getting all but six teeth pulled. Not going to lie he had a drug problem at one point to and HIV which was also mentioned when I researched is concerning me too. His real dad whos done drugs with him at one point has HIV. He says theres no way he chouldve contracted it from his dad thou. so I may just be parinoid about it. If it is that ill find out at my next doctors apointment later this week. But Im just wondering has anyone had similar experinces or a little insight. Chould him being sick be completely unrelated to the swollen glands. Is it likley from the herpes.

A new infection remains possible. For example, if you had both HSV-1 and HSV-2 (perhaps going back for several years) and he had only one of them, he might have recently caught the second virus.

With these pretty severe symptoms, this sounds more like a new herpes infection, not a recurrence of previous herpes. Maybe your partner previous had HSV1 and now caugth HSV2 (or vice versa)? Or perhaps something other than herpes is going on here. Are you and he seeing a doctor or clinic? What do they say? If not, you both definitely should see a doctor ASAP for examination and testing. This situation is much too complicated to sort out online, either on this forum or anywhere else.

Good luck with it.
