can be but it's usually just in one small area, not generalized. jock itch is more likelywhen it's more than at a small spot.
Is it not true that itching and burning in males can be a symptom of herpes also???
usually itching and burning in males is jock itch.

I am having almost a similar situation in terms of not knowing whether I have real symptoms or my head playing games with me. I had protected sex, but unprotected oral sex with a girl who had a scab left over from a blister on her lip. It was a very small dot, but its been 2.5 weeks, and I have had little signs here and there that are driving me crazy all day long on not knowing whether it is or isn't herpes. My chief signs are my mouth has broken out a little with small individual pimples (not large/not blisters/slight redness) and occasional itchiness. Also, I had an extremely soar inner mouth one day last week, and since then soar throat, and I feel achy. I guess I am looking for same advice which is why I am on your post. GLTY and thanks for any advice that comes.
Thanks for the reply. A couple more questions:
If there is any itching/burning in the genital region, would it a constant itch/burn or could it come and go? Same with muscle aches?
Thanks again.
really nothing you've described sounds like you have a herpes infection goign on.
since it was unprotected sex, following up with std testing isn't a bad idea. You can test for chlamydia and gonorrhea anytime after 1 week post encounter, syphilis anytime after 6, herpes and hiv anytime after 3 months. discuss with your provider if hepatitis testing is warranted or not too.
