Does herpes cause constant irritation?

Hello all I have had burning in my vulva and some minor swelling near the opening of my vagina on and off for 2.5 mths I always feel well not right down there... Sometimes I get sharp pains but mostly I just feel kinda irritated. No blisters no sores... I have been tested for everything the only thing that shows is my hsv 1 that I have had since I was a child.. Does this sound like herpes?

Maybe a yeast/fungal infection as most vaginal topical irritations are related to this. Not taking the meds would not cause burning.

2.5 months swelling with no sores developing would not be related to herpes.
Maybe mention to your doctor about  a Bartholin gland cyst or abscess. The Bartholin glands make a small amount of fluid that moistens the outer genital area, or vulva. If a Bartholin duct gets blocked, fluid builds up in the gland. The blocked gland is called a Bartholin gland cyst. If the Bartholin gland or duct gets infected, it is called a Bartholin gland abscess.

Hi no they do not. Since you have hsv1 oral its close to zero you got it genital. Those that get it in both areas got it at the same time before antibodies were developed.
You test negative for hsv2 so your symptoms should not be considered herpetic and also having constant does not happen with out an outbreak.

I have not had one in like 7-8 years... I keep testing for hsv 2 I was tested at 4 and 6 weeks, (off meds) then at 14 weeks and again at 18.5 weeks (On valtrex) all were negative. I stopped my meds today. I just keep thinking I have this b/c of the constant irritation I'm worried I in fact have gotten hsv 1 in a new place now.. Do my symptoms sound like herpes outbreaks to you?  I also get a crawling feeling down there like once or twice a day almost every day...

Hi, herpes outbreaks can be very unnoticable but since you tested negative for hsv2 it would not really be herpes related as contracting hsv1 genital would be next to zero risk since you have strong antibodies to help prevent it. Have you had any oral outbreaks with the hsv1?
