Weird discharge

About 3 weeks ago I had protected sex with a new partner. Two days afterwards I noticed a thick, white, and fish smelling discharge. I never had any itching, pain, or soreness. I noticed I was red but it seemed to just be irritation from the discharge. When I went to the doctor's they gave me medication for BV and yeast infection but I  was never examed or tested. The symptoms began to clear up 3 days later (about 13 days after sex). I had asked the man his std status prior to sex ( we had been friends) but due to his sudden ghosting afterwards I'm now worried if he could have been hiding something from me. I'm going in for a full STD panel but as it's too soon to test for herpes I wanted advice on whether or not this situation is concerning in regards to that.
