Equivocal 1.0??

I Recently Got Tested For Several STD's BecAuse I Had Never Been Tested. Everything Came Back negative Except For HSV 2, Which Came Back Equivocal @ 1.0.

Here Is The Deal...I've Been Married And With My Wife For 10 Years (We Split Up 5 Years Ago And Both Had Other Partners). However, We Have Been Faithful For THe last 5 Years. I Have Had No Breakouts, And Neither Has She. I Have 1 Wart Looking Thing In My Pubic Area, But Not On My Penis (This Started The Whole Mess).

My Doc Explained It Was Neither Positive Or Negative...But Could Be The Start Of A Recent InfectionI. Could I Test Equivocal If I Picked Up This Virus 5 Years Ago And Have Shown No Symptoms?Wouldn't That 1.0 Be Higher?  Somebody Please Help Me underStand This All. If My Wife And I Have Been faithful

I tested equivocal and ended up getting Negative result on the Western Blot.  (This was after rushing into a 2nd HerpesSelect test that, falsely, showed I was "Positive.")    Supposedly if it's been about 6 months since a risky exposure, then an "Equivocal" on HerpesSelect probably means Negative.

Very likely to be nothing to be concerned with.

Have your wife test.  If she's negative you have nothing to worry about.
