Do I have HSV1 or HSV2?

I recently had blood work done and my doctor said I have herpes, and I’m trying to understand the test results. I received my paperwork and my IgG results came back as following:

HSV1AB 56.20, <0.90

HSV2AB <0.90.

What does this mean?

This means you're positive for type 1. Have you ever had a cold sore? Hsv1 mostly affects the mouth and a lot of people have it not knowing it. I didn't think i had it until one day out of no where bam cold sore. Hadn't even kissed anyone a month prior. It's something that kind of sucks but knowing how common and little effect it has on most people's lives brings me some comfort

I remember having one when I was younger but as I got older I haven’t had any. It’s been years.
Well then there ya go. It's nothing to be overly concerned with which is hard i know, but that's how these things present them selves sometimes. They can go dormant for years and pop up out of nowhere. Certain triggers can bring them about like stress hormones sickness injury etc
