if you both have hsv2, transmission isn't an issue. If you are having frequent ob's or even are just bothered too much by the ob's you do have then by all means suppressive therapy is a good choice for you. if you are interested in stopping it to see what happens, no reason not to. it's totally up to you.

I was just wondering is it really necessary to be on suppression therapy if my partner is also HSV2+. I had only one outbreak which was 6 years after my 2003 test results. Thanks!

I saw my pcp for a physical last friday and apparently I was tested HSV 2+ back on 2003 with an igg of 2.37 so I have had hsv 2 for many years and had my first lesion just recently. My doc said that back then it only meant that I had the antibioties and that it didn't matter because there was no lesion. In this case could it mean that I have passed it to other partners without knowing? Thanks!
you had a + lesion culture that was hsv2. no reason to retest as we discussed in your previous post.
