Now I'm thinking my symptoms were definitely all due to friction, since they started just hours after the encounter.
this sounds more like irritation than anything. it also could be a fungal infection so if it doesn't get better in a few days, be seen and get it checked out.
have you ever been tested for herpes before? the rates of herpes infection, both hsv1 and hsv2 are very high in gay males so it's something you should be getting done at least yearly.
also always protect yourself and have protected sexual contact! not worth the risk of unprotected oral sex :(

Thanks, Grace. I appreciate your answer and good advice. Yes - I've been tested a few times in the past (HerpeSelect IgG) and have been negative for HSV1 and 2. But it is something I think about everytime I meet somebody.
There's a lot of denial or whatever it is out here, with people labeling themselves as "clean" or "ddf." Doesn't everyone have HPV @ some point or another?
BTW, the symptoms are now totally gone and had already healed about 5 days after the abrasion.
no one gets routinely tested for hpv - males or females. it can be transmitted through oral, anal and vaginal sex. indeed someone saying that they are "clean" is not the entire picture. herpes testing isn't routine either but most folks think when they ask for std testing that they are getting the whole shebang when they aren't. also most folks don't get tested for std's at the right times either :( can I make you more paranoid? lol
if you were negative for hsv1 prior to this, odds are you would've had a very obvious and "classic" initial ob. Not something you'd mistake for anything else.
