Genital Herpes?! After Oral Sex.

Hello group,

I was doing well with protected oral sex for quite a while. I just had unprotected oral sex (received) on Sunday. Some deep throating was involved and it lasted about 15 minutes. It's now day 5 after the incident and I don't have any symptoms or anything as of yet. (No discharge, burning pee, soreness or sores on penis).

I wanted to know when would I be in the clear with genital herpes after receiving oral sex? Somebody mentioned a primary infection stage so I wanted to know about that. I tested negative for HSV 2 back in April and positive for HSV 1. My friend/partner has the same results as well. I am a little concerned since this oral incident lasted for so long (long for me that is).

Any advice or concerns would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks you SO much! I was freaking out a little since I was having some weird feelings after the hard masterbation but I guess I was imagining more than what it was. I feel a lot better now and thanks for this info. Yeah I didn't see any cold sores or anything so I wasn't initially worried but I did have concen after realizing there was a risk (albeit extremely extremely slim) of herpes.

You Made my weekend!

Thanks!

Most people who get it in both areas got it at the same time before antibodies were built. Your in the clear for hsv1 because the risk of getting it in another area is close to zero if possible at all. The same hsv does not ping pong back and forth other wise wed have herpes all over the place and we dont.  If she had hsv2 oral (which is rare) most symptoms appear within 3 to 13 days or so after infection. But if she did and did not have any lip sores at the time, the risk would be close to zero as hsv2 oral only sheds 1% of the time.

Thanks for the information.  Would I be in the clear after 5 days of no symptoms? We some pretty aggressive masterbastion so my penis was sore the day after and has now stretched back - with some slight pain when I tug on the skin right under the head of my penis. It's only when I tug and goes away after I tug. Just want to make sure I'm in the clear. Let me know!

Hi, since most oral hsv is 1 and you already have 1 then you would be pretty much immune to contracting it in another area.
