Genital and oral herpes

I was just recently diagnosed with genital herpes. My partner was not aware that he had it as he has never experienced any symptoms. My finding out was news to him about himself. I've started treatment etc, however, I noticed one or 2 small white circular things in my mouth on the right jaw that resembles how the blister looked on my cervix. That side of my mouth does feel abnormal but it's difficult to describe the feeling. If i chew something that requires effort I would just want to give up.  Could I have contracted the genital herpes in my mouth as well? I've performed oral sex on my partner numerous times so I could have contracted it the same time I contracted genital herpes especially if that contaminated organ has at different times, entered both my mouth and vagina during sex.  I've read that it is unusual for this to happen as herpes has a site of preference and it is the HSV1 virus that manifests in the mouth area. If this is the case, will the possibility of the recurring in my jaw be the same likelihood as a recurrence of what is taking place "down south."?? Do you think thats what it is?? O
I'm really desperate for some advice.
Thanks

Can I just add that there are many Oral conditions that are not related to Herpes in any way,it may simply be coincidental that something happens to be bothering your mouth at this specific time and you are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 6 .....
If you don't feel comfortable talking to your Doctor about the Oral part then see your Dentist they are all pretty clued up on all Oral conditions they don't just pull teeth out and do fillings all day long. Believe it or not our mouth is a relatively dirty place and carries the most Bacteria regardless of what we do to try to prevent it ......

Since your partner is the only one you've ever had, fastest answers at this point since you weren't properly diagnosed is for him to get a type specific herpes igg blood test to see if he has hsv1 and/or hsv2 and go from there.  You don't need obvious genital symptoms present for the blood test - you just need enough time to have passed for it to be accurate and since he would've had this since before you, he can get tested now.

No matter how flexible you are, you aren't able to see your cervix sitting at home with a mirror....he he he

The herpes handbook at www.westoverheights.com is a terrific resource for you and your partner. It's free to read online or print out.

You need to be properly tested. A visual diagnosis of herpes is not a valid one. Unfortunately you are past the point of a swab/culture, but you can request an IgG type specific blood test. The only caveat there is, if it's a recent infection, it may not show in the blood test.

About one-third of all new genital herpes cases are HSV1. And yes, a person can get both genital and herpes at the same time/ same sexual encounter.

For goodness sake, don't be ashamed. 45 million people have the herpes virus! 70% of the adult population have oral herpes alone!! No doctor is there to judge you, at all. Herpes is just a pesky skin condition caused by a virus.

SO, get tested! Post your results here once you do. Then you'll know for sure your herpes status.

Sorry I didn't get enough info. I'm new to this. Perhaps I shouldn't have said cervix but the entry to my vagina is where I saw what resembles whats in my mouth. I sit with a mirror so that I can see. I went to the doctor for a yeast infection and based on an examination I was told I have herpes genitalis. It was visual based on my symptoms. I haven't done any testing except for the yeast which I found had some unusual bacteria in it but I am on something for that. I'm also on Zovirax and based on my research I don't think I was misdiagnosed even though I wish I was. My partner hasn't had any testing done. He didn't know that he had it - never had any signs. It just seems logical that he does because he has been my only partner but I am one of a few he's had in the past. I've been told you can't find out whether or not you have the virus unless you have symptoms, i.e. blisters that they can take fluid from to test.
I'm a bit ashamed to ask my doctor about the oral symptoms but I guess that's what I'll have to do. When i check my mouth sometimes, a white substance is gathered in that area that i rinse out which is what really bothers me and why I think thats what it is.
Thanks for your responses, really appreciated!
I'm looking forward to more. This is really helpful...sometimes I feel as if my life is over.

How do you know your blister looked like what was on your cervix? You can't see your cervix, can you? Just sayin'.

Not enough information here to help you - sorry. You don't even say what type of herpes you were diagnosed with. Was it a visual diagnosis only?

Jesus.

What testing have you had done so far?

What testing has your partner had done so far?

Have you had your provider look at your oral symptoms? If not, that's the best course of action.
