HERPES? blisters on the lips, then scabs, sore taste buds, red marks on penis

Since I was young I have had the occasional canker sore in my mouth. It usually goes away within a week.
Almost a year ago I experienced unprotected sex for the first time with a good friend of mine and as far as I know she has never had anything and we had both gone +2 years without intimacy before the sex. I also preformed oral on her.
When I have mouth symptoms, it now:
- starts with lips feeling like they are burning
- get random blisters on my lips
- those burst and scab over, along with scabs in the corners of my mouth
- I get sore taste buds on my tongue as well

In the past few days I have noticed a couple of red sore spots on my penis. But it could be chafing...I am hoping that is all.

Most women think that going for a yearly gyn exam is getting tested for std's which it is not. Even when you ask for std testing, typically herpes testing is not included.

that said, it doesn't sound like it's all hsv1 orally going on. You need to see your provider and get a full work up done when you have symptoms.  They'll need to culture the blisters for herpes because a herpes blood test just tells you what you have, it doesn't tell you what is going on at the time so a timely pcr swab of the oral symptoms is a good idea.

I spoke with the woman I had sex with and she says no other guy has reported what I am talking about. She said that she gets tested every year and has always been negative.
But yes, I will be going to see a doctor tomorrow.

No matter what, the only way you'll know is to see your medical provider for proper testing. You should go right when you have an active outbreak to have it swabbed/cultured. As well, you could have an IgG type specific test.

70% of the adult population has oral herpes, it's incredibly common.
