HSV-2 and Oral/Kissing?

Hello,
A friend I've had sex with does have HSV-2. She has regular outbreaks, but according to her, in her genitals. She stated "when I was young" I had like a sore on my lips, but doesn't remember too clearly. About three months ago she had just one sore on her tongue, which went away in 3 days. Last year she tested twice and was told it's HSV-2.

I'm concerned as she was married for 8 years and her x-husband did have outbreak of genitals (probably HSV-2). I was thinking what if they gave HSV-2 to one another, orally?

She just performed unprotected oral sex once on me and we've kissed for prolonged periods of time on a few occasions.

I've had no outbreaks and never have had any sores on lips in my life or genitals. I'm concerned about contracting HSV-2, orally, from her from the oral sex performed and/or kissing. I've never penetrated her.

Any advisement regarding my risks and what I shall do/worry would be appreciated.

already answered the worried question .

if you plan to continue this relationship, talk to her about her going on suppressive therapy so that she has less recurrences so less disruptions to your sex life together as well as it reduces your risk of contracting hsv2 from her.

No, she does not take suppressive theraphy...which is why she has so many outbreaks (about 3-4 since January thus far)...should I be worried from the oral I received from her and kissing, still? Thanks.

I wouldn't be too worried at all. does she take daily suppressive therapy too?

I think it was a canker sore they cultured; I will find out this week the results. However, they cultured that in the mouth. With respect to her, she gave me oral with me not wearing condom; we also kissed. She has confirmed HSV2. So...should I be worried, Grace?

they can only confirm hsv2 orally if she has an active lesion to culture.

she can perform protected oral sex without any risk at all.

even if she does actually have hsv2 orally too, typically it doesn't shed much at all so the risk of it being transmitted through oral sex is very low. her taking daily suppressive therapy would lower your risk overall no matter what the sex act.

Hi,
She has outbreaks, vaginally. She has HSV2, vaginally, from what she shared. I've sent her to be tested again today. I'm just wanting to know if I can get anything from her performing unprotected oral sex on me and kissing me on the lips? Thank you, Grace.

it's not typical to have herpes recurrences on the tongue. did she have a lesion culture that confirmed hsv2 orally or just blood testing that only came back as hsv1+?

have you been tested to know your own status for herpes?
