HSV Avidity Test

Grace,
You mentioned the HSV Avidity test.
I wanted to get it done, but I am running in some problems.
I tried LabCorp and Quest, and neither offers it.
How can I get the test done? How can I find a lab that offers it?

the only other thing I can suggest is to call terri warren's westover heights clinic and discuss it with them to see if they'll take you on as a long distance patient. it'll cost you more money but I"m sure she's familiar with how to order the test for you through any quest lab near you.

yes, they told me that the doctor needs to get the sample himself, get some paperwork filled from CDC (or other government agency) and mail the blood sample to the university himself.
My doctor doesn't want to deal with it....they weren't any help at all...

Contacted the University and they didn't have any answers either. They told me to ask my doctor, and my doctor never heard of it.
This is so frustrating.... thank you for your help Grace...I will call some more labs and see if I can find anybody that would draw my blood and send it to Washington for testing....

it's only offered from the U of washington I believe and isn't covered by insurance. you can have your doctor contact them for more info.  your window of opportunity for having it done is dwindling fast though isn't it?
