HI there,
I experienced a burning sensation in my genital area and some slight pain when urinating. These symptoms occurred about 2.5 months after having unprotected sex. I had a full STD panel done and the nurse informed me that I had chlamydia and was exposed to HSV2. She said that it did not mean that I had herpes, but to come back to see them if I noticed any blisters. I was prescribed an antibiotic (for the chlamydia I assume) and I don't experience anymore pain when urinating.
Unfortunately, I am still experiencing the burning sensation. It is not excruciating but very annoying. The intensity fades in and out and usually gets stronger when stressed or anxious. I have not experienced any blisters or any other symptoms. It has now been about 3.5 months since my last sexual encounter and I don't know where to go from here. I'm not understanding how one could have been "exposed," but not infected by the herpes virus. Do I need to wait a little longer and have another test done? I don't know what type of test was performed and I did not see the results.
