Do I have a rare form of hsv-2 herpes?

Two days ago I got diagnosed with Herpes 2 by a blood test, and my obg/yn said that having type 2 was the reason why I have had yellow and itchy discharge for a few years when I thought I just had repeated yeast infections. I have been tested for every STD including Hiv. And I have never had any genital sore or lesion whatsoever in my life. It it all internal? (Like how I contracted it) I've only have two partners, one was a virgin, and the other I had unprotected a few times with and he slept around. Should I get tested again just to be sure? Thanks. :(

if you can get your exact test results to post here, I can better help you - e.g. hsv1 igg 4.3 and hsv2 igg 2.2 or whatever they are. that way we can be sure you were properly tested and don't have a low positive that needs further confirmatory testing.

herpes doesn't cause yellow discharge with recurrences. Any discharge with a herpes recurrence is usually clear and not overly itchy.   yeast infections also tend not to cause yellow discharge either. you should be seen anytime you have this discharge for an exam and testing for vaginitis.

get yourself checked for bacterial vaginosis. It sounds like you had my symptoms.
