HSV2 newly diagnosed, natural treatment interest

I have been diagnosed a week ago with HSV2.  My first ever OB was last month and it was very mild, lasted about 3-4 wks.  Just a raw stinging swollen patch on my outer lip, and never got worse, I believe it came on when I got sick with an upper respiratory infection.  I rarely get sick and have a pretty strong immune system.  I was given the generic Valtrex for 5 days 3 wks after 1st OB after it was about 90% healed.  I didn't know at the time I was having an OB so I used raw aloe vera which seemed to help the healing.  Can anyone give actual experience of using natural treatments?  After I was done with the Valtrex April 29, I haven't been on any medicine since as I prefer to see how long it takes before another OB occurs, not that Im wishing it, but if the 1st OB was so mild, Im hoping it will remain that way and I just prefer to use natural treatments instead.  Any feedback would be great!!

This doesn't sound like herpes at all and almost certainly would not be HSV2.

How were you diagnosed?
