Herpes cause NSU/NGU?

I had protected sex from a sex worker two weeks ago and I felt a slight pain in my urination. I went to the STD clinic and they diagnosed me with NSU/NGU and put me on antibiotics. So, last night my scrotum started to itch and a little burning and redness, but no lesions, sores, penis. No flue like symptoms either. I think my mind is playing tricks on me and I have anxiety since I am married.

Can herpes cause NSU/NGU?

When should I get tested for herpes/hiv?

a hand job can force bacteria into the urogenital tract.

continue to follow up as needed with your provider.

protected oral, but she didn't masturbate me before she put the condom on. Can you get it from a hand job?

you can get it from masturbation ( rubbing bacteria from your hands into your urethra ) as well as from oral sex. did you have any unprotected oral during this encounter?

Thanks Grace!

I will get tested in three months. I got tested for most chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis, and all came back negative except NGU. Strange that I got it with a condom, but the MD says it's low with protected sex, but it does happen.

Anyway, I learned lots of information about Herpes.

odds are your newest symptoms are fungal since you are on antibiotics. you can try an otc jock itch cream to see if that helps.

you had protected sex so no reason for hiv testing or the bacterial std's.  the risk of herpes from an one time protected encounter is very low. we actually don't recommend even testing for it to be honest. if you do feel you need the peace of mind, you need to wait 3 months post encounter to get herpes igg blood testing done.
